Eagles add WR Hamler to practice squad

"The Eagles added wide receiver Jamel Hamler to their practice squad Tuesday.

Hamler moved into the spot that became available Monday when the Eagles promoted defensive tackle Cedric Thornton to the 53-man roster after placing Steve Smith on injured reserve.

Hamler, 6-foot-2, 195, spent the preseason with the Broncos and caught one pass in two preseason games before going on injured reserve. "
