One day after releasing his new Chinese basketball shoes, Dwyane Wade started and played in his first game of the preseason in Beijing's MasterCard Center.

The Heat tipped off its two-game tour of China against the Los Angeles Clippers at 7:30 a.m. ET on Thursday. In Beijing, the game began at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wade, who is still recovering from knee surgery,started alongside started alongside LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Norris Cole and Shane Battier.

Before the game, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Wade wouldn't play many minutes.

STUFF THAT HAPPENED

--Wade gave the Heat a 10-2 lead with his first basket of the preseason.

--Shane Battier, who fans adore in Beijing, made the games first basket, a three-pointer.

--LeBron James scored 10 points in the games first nine minutes.

--Chris Bosh had a nice first quarter, playing solid defense inside and scoring eight points.

--Mickell Gladness subbed in in the first quarter. Before the game, Erik Spoelstra said he was going to give him a look. Spoelstra leaning toward keeping two bigs with final two roster spots.
