"Bobby Ryan has always tended to score goals in bunches, which can be good and bad for the Ducks over time.
But it was all good for Ryan on this particular evening against St. Louis.
Three more goals by Ryan on Wednesday night gave him his second hat trick this season and it powered the Ducks to a 7-4 victory over the Blues at Honda Center to close out a critical homestand that saw them take five of six.
As cold as he was in December, Ryan has suddenly turned it on in January as he has scored six times during the Ducks' current three-game winning streak.
"I certainly wasn't hot for quite some time," said Ryan, who's got 21 goals for the season. "To be on the other side of things and have the ball rolling in the right direction is a huge benefit for me."
The seven goals marked the most that the Ducks (24-18-4) have scored in a game this season. Lubomir Visnovsky added a goal and two assists while Corey Perry scored his team-leading 22nd goal and set up one of Ryan's tallies.
And their impressive work at home has come without captain Ryan Getzlaf, who'll be out until February because of his nasal fractures."
