"The Ducks have agreed to a five-year contract with winger Bobby Ryan worth $25.5 million, according to source close to the negotiations who didn't have the authority to announce the deal because it has yet to be made official.

The agreement came after more than a week of talks that resumed in earnest prior to Labor Day weekend, eliminating the possibility of a large distraction heading into training camp that opens on Saturday.

It is believed that the offer Ryan ultimately accepted was put on the table sometime last week. Ryan has been working out with teammates at Anaheim Ice over the past few weeks."
