"The Montreal Canadiens have acquired defenceman Mark Mitera from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for blue-liner Mathieu Carle.

The 23-year-old Carle played 68 games with Hamilton of the American Hockey League last season, collecting 29 points.

Mitera scored six goals and added 16 assists in 71 games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch last season.

Mitera is a former first-round pick. The Ducks selected him 19th overall at the 2006 NHL draft."
