"All-star goalie Jonas Hiller moved closer to a return with the Anaheim Ducks after coach Randy Carlyle said Tuesday that he will accompany the team on its three-game trip to Dallas, Nashville and Chicago.
Hiller, who has played two games since Jan. 25 while battling vertigo-like symptoms, went through another full practice on Tuesday. Carlyle told the Orange County Register the key will be how Hiller reacts to his latest workout and the flight to Dallas.
"We have, quite possibly, a decision to make in the next three games," Carlyle said.
That decision will focus on which goaltenders will play down the stretch as the Ducks battle for a playoff berth. Dan Ellis has played well since being acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning at the trade deadline, and Ray Emery has been superb in recent starts while coming back from hip surgery."
