After opening the door for the Houston Rockets to steal a win from the Spurs Tim Duncan slammed it right in James Harden’s face on the final play of a dramatic 104-103 win, San Antonio’s 10th straight.

The win at Houston’s Toyota Center enabled the Spurs to leapfrog the Rockets in the air-tight Western Conference standings and climb from sixth to third. It was their 20th win in their last 23 games.

Duncan led all scorers with 29 points and had a chance to put the finishing touches on the victory with 35 seconds left when Manu Ginobili fed him for a layup.

Had Duncan made the easy shot the Spurs would have had a relatively safe six-point lead. Instead, the Spurs captain missed the reverse layin and that sent the Rockets on their way to a 3-point basket by Harden that sliced the Spurs lead to one point, 104-103.
