DREXEL JUNIOR forward Kazembe Abif will miss the rest of the season after breaking his left hand in practice. The school said he was hurt Thurday and will have surgery next week.

Abif missed five games in January with a sprained knee, but returned to the staring lineup on Jan. 25 against William & Mary. He scored a career-high 16 points and added eight rebounds in Saturday's 75-72 loss at Towson.

Abif is second on the team with 6.6 rebounds and scored 7.2 points per game.

Drexel already was playing without star guard Damion Lee, who was lost for the season with a knee injury suffered Nov. 27 against Arizona in the semifinals of the NIT Season Tip-Off at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Meanwhile, senior forward Goran Pantovic has missed six games with a hand injury and remains out indefinitely
