"Donte' Stallworth's return to the NFL will be delayed at least two months after the Baltimore Ravens wide receiver broke his foot during Saturday night's 24-10 preseason victory against the New York Giants.Stallworth, signed by the Ravens in February in an attempt to stretch their offense, broke the foot while returning a punt in the second quarter and played a play before leaving the game. He is expected to miss up to two months after surgery that Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh said will include inserting a screw into the foot.
"That's really disappointing for him and for our football team, obvisouly," Harbaugh said. "We'll do what we do. We'll step up and the next guy will play well. But the good news is that it's not a season-ending injury. He'll get surgery right away. He'll put a screw in that thing and we'll hope to get him back right around the bye week (Oct. 31)."
Stallworth, 29, was suspended all of last season by the NFL after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter charges following a March 2009 accident in which his Bentley hit and killed a pedestrian in Miami Beach. He served 24 days of 30-day sentence that included 1,000 hours of community service, two years of house arrest and eight years probation."
