"It has been an eventful couple of days for Miami Dolphins running back Steve Slaton, and it could get even busier by the end of the week.

After being claimed by the Dolphins on Wednesday, Slaton is expected to see some playing time Sunday against the Chargers with rookie tailback Daniel Thomas nursing a hamstring injury.

"I'm prepared to get reps," Slaton said. "I'm studying as hard as I can, and I just have to try to remember as much as I can for the first weekend."

The possibility of Slaton seeing the field against San Diego grew more likely Friday as Thomas was held out of practice."
