The Miami Dolphins have been forced to make changes to the starting offensive line because of an undisclosed injury John Jerry is nursing.

Jerry who has spent two of his three seasons with Miami as the starting right guard was absent from Friday's morning practice.

On Wednesday the Dolphins finished the team's practice session with backup center Josh Samuda working as the first-team right guard.

On Friday the coaches completely altered the offensive line to compensate for the prolonged absence of Jerry a former third-round pick.

Richie Incognito who has served as the starting left guard since 2009 was moved to right guard a position he hasn't played since the 2008 season.

Dallas Thomas a former Tennessee standout the Dolphins selected in the third round of the 2013 draft was promoted to the starting left guard spot. When drafting Thomas the Dolphins initially planned for him to serve as the backup left tackle and left guard. He's now the first rookie to get a full practice tryout with the starters.
