"The presence of trash-talk during this rivalry is nothing new.
When the Miami Dolphins face the New York Jets, it's expected for a player or coach to spout off about something. Sunday's regular-season finale is no different.
Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall kept tradition by lobbing a verbal jab at Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis during Wednesday's conference call with the New York media.
Marshall said Revis received preferential star treatment during the team's last meeting Oct. 17.
Marshall felt Revis may have interfered on his 100-yard interception return for a touchdown. The players were entangled before Revis broke free to pick off the pass.
"You know what, my technique could have been better, but at the same time I think they gave him the 'Jordan Rule,' " Marshall said.
"Michael Jordan, you get a little close to Michael Jordan they are going to call a foul, it works that way in football. Some guys you know they are scared to throw the flag on and he may be getting that rule."
A few days after the play, Revis was asked during a radio interview if he should have been called for pass interference.
The segment ended with Revis hanging up on the host. Revis was supposed to speak with the South Florida media Wednesday, but was replaced by receiver Plaxico Burress at the last minute.
On Thursday, Revis responded by saying Marshall has a tendency to get physical with defensive backs. He told reporters in New York "both sides do things all the time.""
