By this afternoon, the Red Sox should make up their minds about whether Dustin Pedroia will need to be forced onto the disabled list to allow the torn adductor muscle in his right thumb to heal completely.
There is little doubt that the second baseman would resist such a move with the full force of his substantial energy reserves. On Sunday in Toronto, Pedroia said he would be playing tonight.
It is the team that makes DL decisions, but as Pedroia said, "They don't tell me anything."
