Dirk Nowitzki was upset with himself for missing a free throw with 1:04 left that could have made it a 99-98 game.

He also was frustrated not to be able to get a few more shots down the stretch.

“Metta World Peace had me in a bear hug for the last couple of minutes, so it was kind of tough to get me the ball there,” he said. “One time I got fouled and on top of it they hit me with a [technical], so that was a tough sequence there.

“But I got to make that free throw there — that’s for sure — to make it a one-point game. Because I missed the free throw it was a four-point game [after they scored]. That’s tough. I’ve got to be perfect if we want to win.”
