The Devils recalled rookie left winger Reid Boucher from Albany (AHL) Wednesday and he will be in the lineup against the Montreal Canadiens at Prudential Center.

Ryan Carter, hurt in a fight with Buffalo's Marcus Foligno Saturday night, was put on injured reserve retroactive to that game.

General manager Lou Lamoriello said Carter's injury is his leg, not the facial cuts or a concussion.

"It's not his laceration or anything above the neck," Lamoriello said of Carter. "It's his leg. He can't skate yet. It has nothing to do with the fight. When he went down he twisted his leg. I don't want anybody to jump to conclusions. First word that comes out of everybody is concussion."

Boucher was given No. 15.

In 21 games with Albany this season, Boucher has 18 points (10 goals, eight assists) and is plus-4 with two penalty minutes.

"He'll be in the lineup tonight," Lamoriello said of Boucher. "We'll put him in a situation. Scoring-wise he's had success down there and he's been playing extremely well. So he'll get an opportunity tonight.

"It's time to give Reid a look. It's not like bringing an 18-year-old in. He's played hisj unior, so he's mature. He's a pure goal-scorer, so you give him an opportunity ti see what he can do."

Adam Henrique (lower body) is okay to play.
