Cory Schneider knows before he even steps into his crease that he probably isn’t going to get much offensive support.

So it came as no surprise that the Devils waited until overtime before Jaromir Jagr scored yet another big goal for a 2-1 victory over the Kings Thursday night at Staples Center.

Jagr took a pass from Marek Zidlicky and scored at 2:30 of overtime for his ninth goal of the season.

The goal by Jagr tied Mario Lemieux for ninth on the all-time NHL goal-scoring list at 690.

The Devils were outshot, 35-15.

Devils left winger Ryan Carter snapped a scoreless tie when he scored at 5:52 of the third period. The winger skated out from behind the net and backhanded a shot from the middle of the left circle over the right shoulder of goalie Ben Scrivens.
