A games like Saturday's is one Greg Monroe will forget and will likely make Pistons fans overlook quite soon with a couple outstanding performances.
But for the moment, his 4-of-17 shooting performance in the Pistons' 92-77 loss to the Dallas Mavericks stands out as quite possibly the worst of his career. Monroe finished with eight points and 15 rebounds, but he was disgusted with himself after his showing.
"I gotta convert those, there are no excuses," Monroe said. "My teammates played too hard tonight for me not to convert those. Makeable shots. Not converting those shots is unacceptable."
The Pistons again came away winless on another road excursion, but Monroe is intent on taking this one directly on the chin.
"Both of these games, last night and tonight, we had a chance to win the game," Monroe said. "We change stuff we could've done better, it's tough to lose the game, especially this one because I feel it's moreso my fault individually. I take responsibility for this one."
