Charlie Villanueva always admired boxers, and while plenty of people who consider themselves Detroit Pistons fans would like to see a Chubby Charlie get run right out of town sometime in the near future, the power forward himself has responded by springing off the canvas and punching back.

Villanueva began a boxing training regimen in June, with brisk daily sessions in a Royal Oak gym where trainer Al Irish – "no-joke type of guy, very disciplined," the player says -- oversees his workouts.

And the results after three months?

"From when I started, to where I am now, it's two different people," Villanueva said Thursday.
