For the second straight year, the Detroit Lions were not awarded any of the compensatory picks handed out by the NFL.

The NFL awarded 32 such picks based on which teams lost the most in free agency last year. Basically, the more net talent a team loses via the open market, the better it will do with comp picks.

Detroit lost free agents like offensive tackle Riley Reiff (Minnesota), offensive guard Larry Warford (Saints), receiver/return man Andre Roberts (Falcons), linebacker Josh Bynes (Cardinals) and safety Rafael Bush (Saints).
