After taking some time away from the team to ponder his future in the NBA, Derrick Rose wants to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to a report from The Athletic's Jason Lloyd.

According to Lloyd, Rose has been in touch with Cavaliers general manager Koby Atlman, and has expressed a desire to return to the team.

With his recovery from an early season ankle issue taking longer than initially expected, Rose decided to take a leave of absence from the Cavaliers to figure out whether or not he wanted to continue playing basketball, as he has dealt with consistent injuries since 2011.
