"Raiders running back Darren McFadden worried about his ability to summon the necessary "burst" as a result of the right hamstring that has nagged him of late.
McFadden on Sunday answered any doubt with a 196-yard all-around performance that yielded four touchdowns and propelled the Raiders to a 59-14 victory over the Denver Broncos at Invesco Field at Mile High.
"When he's been healthy, he's been very, very productive, so I'm not surprised by it," Raiders coach Tom Cable said. "I'm pleased, though, that it came in a game like this. When he's been on the field, he has shown that he is very much the guy we drafted."
The Raiders selected McFadden with the No. 4 overall pick of the 2008 NFL draft. Toe, shoulder and knee injuries dogged him the past two seasons. He missed the past two games with a hamstring injury he suffered Oct. 3 against the Houston Texans.
His eye-opening game against the Broncos included runs of 40 and 57 yards, the latter a career-long, en route to a career-high 165 yards rushing.
He also scored on two 4-yard runs and on a 19-yard pass reception. He bowled over safety Renaldo Hill at the Broncos' 4-yard line on his way to the end zone on the reception."
