"Third baseman David Wright was moved to shortstop in the eighth inning, his first major league appearance at the position. It was part of a flurry of changes - the Mets made eight positional changes in the eighth alone - set off after infielders Jose Reyes and Daniel Murphy left the game with injuries.
"It sucks I had to play [SS] given the circumstances," Wright said. "It would have been great if we were up a ton of runs and did it for fun, but under the circumstances, you don't want to have to go do that."
Moving Wright to shortstop was not a decision manager Terry Collins took lightly. Before making the move, Collins asked Wright if he felt comfortable there."
