"A day after receiving disappointing news on the Ike Davis front, a light at the end of the tunnel has appeared concerning David Wright 's ailing back.
Mets GM Sandy Alderson said Wright has been cleared to resume workouts and could return to the Mets within three weeks. Wright has been on the shelf with a stress fracture in his lower back since May 16.
"He was given the green light today to commence fuller baseball activity," Alderson said.
Wright, who underwent a CT-scan Thursday before being given the all clear signal, will head to Port St. Lucie Friday to begin what Alderson termed "full exercise activity.""
