Ferdinand believes his new boss is stressing his players out with his last-minute line-ups. His revelation comes at the end of a dire week in which United lost more ground in their bid to retain the Premier League title.

A home defeat by Moyes' former club Everton has United in ninth place, 12 points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

Moyes won't be helped by Ferdinand's admission about the new manager's approach to team selection.

The 35-year-old said: "This manager's a bit different in that he doesn't name the team beforehand. You don't really get to know the team.

"The old manager used to give you a bit of an idea if you'd be playing and stuff.
