"Quarterback David Garrard was wearing a splint on his sprained left wrist Monday, but he said he'll be ready to play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
"I feel good," he said. "I've got a little soreness, a little swelling, but I feel like everything will be fine this week. Once we get the swelling out, there will be no problems."
Garrard, who was injured when he was sacked on the next-to-the-last-play of a 24-20 loss to the New York Giants last Sunday, said he doesn't expect to wear a splint in the game.
"They might put a little pre-wrap, a little tape, but other than that, I don't see anything else," he said.
Garrard said both an X-ray and MRI revealed no broken bones in his wrist.
"Yeah, everything was negative," he said. "Everything was good. I actually got to see it myself, so I'm happy about that. Once we get the swelling out of there, it'll be ready to roll."
Coach Jack Del Rio said Garrard was "a little sore, but I think he's going to be OK. And it's on his non-throwing wrist."
Garrard admitted he was worried after the game when his wrist quickly swelled up.
"I never really had too many injuries that felt like it did, especially around my wrist and my arm," he said. "I was pretty worried, but when I got in here Monday, it felt better."
The Giants sacked Garrard three plays in a row, the last of which resulted in a fumble. The Giants were blitzing on every play, which raised questions about the Jaguars' strategy on their final drive when they threw the ball on 10 consecutive plays.
Even when they got a first down on the Giants' 29 with 1:51 left and all three timeouts, they kept throwing.
Garrard didn't question the play-calling.
"I just think we were going to be able do fine with the pass game," Garrard said. "We felt like they were playing a lot of single-high [one deep safety], and they were bringing some blitzes. They brought a couple of blitzes that we hadn't seen before. Really, it was just up to us executing and picking our guys out, me getting the ball out of my hands. We didn't do that and it showed.""
