No NFL team ever bats 1.000 in free agency.

The Broncos had a tough day Friday as two players they had pursued, middle linebacker Daryl Smith and center Evan Dietrich-Smith, signed elsewhere.

Smith, who turns 32 next month, re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens, receiving a four-year, $16.1 deal.

The Broncos and Atlanta Falcons also expressed interest in Smith.

Dietrich-Smith, a center from Green Bay, signed a four-year, $14.25 million contract with Tampa Bay.

The Broncos might turn their attention to receivers Brandon LaFell, James Jones or Miles Austin as a replacement to Eric Decker.
