Darrell Green’s son, Jared Green, signed with the Cowboys in January, and it has caused some uneasiness among Redskins fans. The son of a Redskins legend playing for Dallas is a tough pill to swallow, and Jared chatted with Holden and Danny on 106.7 The Fan about it.
“I grew up a Redskins family,” Jared said. “In the same way that somebody who works at Verizon, everyone in their family has a Verizon phone. So, I had a Redskins phone.”
Jared went on to explain the process that brought him to Dallas.

“I’ve never been in that situation, so I’m sure it might be difficult to see that,” he continued. “But, at the end of the day when people have kids, their kids decide what they want to do, and the funny part about this situation is, we had four different teams and we were trying to figure out who we’re gonna sign with. And the best opportunity is with Dallas. Not ‘we’ as in a group. But my dad did encourage me to make the best decision for me and my future. So, we made that decision together, and I think it was good. This is a business decision, and at the end of the day, I’m just trying to feed my wife, and trying to have a good job out of college like a lot of other students.”
It’s a business decision, sure. But the elephant in the room is whether or not Darrell Green will cheer for the Cowboys. Here’s where the more sensitive Redskins fans might want to look away.
