Danny Granger leads Pacers to win over Cleveland Cavaliers

"It would not be surprising if the Indiana Pacers' Jim O'Brien, a coach of statistics, took the box score from the second half of Saturday's 99-85 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, laminated it and posted it in each of his players' lockers as a reminder of what they can do when they are committed.

The Pacers (4-4), just 24 hours removed from a disappointing home loss, locked in defensively and made the extra pass offensively to get their record back to .500.

"A really good defensive second half," O'Brien said. "A good bounce-back win. Our wings Michael (Dunleavy) and Danny (Granger) were terrific. We did a lot of positive things."

The victory was just the fourth in the past 20 meetings for the Pacers against the Cavaliers. A lot of losses were because of LeBron James, who now plays for the Miami Heat.

Granger led the Pacers with a season-high 34 points, Dunleavy scored 20 points and center Roy Hibbert had 16 points and 13 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.

"We lose at home and win on a back-to-back on the road," Granger said. "It was good to come back out, on the road, in front of a packed house and get a win."

Defense has been a distant second to offense when it comes to the Pacers. But there are times when they will have to buckle down on that end of the court to win games.

The Pacers held the Cavaliers to 27.8 percent shooting, including just 10 percent on 3-pointers, in the final 24 minutes of the game."
