"Despite their delicate futures with the White Sox, John Danks and Carlos Quentin were tendered contracts for the 2012 season before Monday's 11 p.m. deadline.

Danks, 26, and Quentin, 29, are one year away from becoming free agents and have been targeted by other teams as the Sox explore ways to add major-league-ready talent and trim payroll.

Danks and Quentin are in their final year as arbitration-eligible players, and Danks could earn up to $8 million and Quentin close to $7 million for 2012."
