Five days after working him out the Dallas Cowboys signed defensive tackle Drake Nevis on Tuesday according to a source.

To make room for Nevis the Cowboys released defensive lineman Jerome Long who was among the team’s final cuts but re-signed on Sept. 7 and played in the first three games. Long did not record a tackle in limited playing time.

Nevis was cut last week by the San Diego Chargers the Cowboys’ foe this week. He was a third-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 2011 and in 14 games over two seasons he had 35 tackles and a sack.
