The Penguins’ new third line has only been together for three days so far in training camp but the trio of Jussi Jokinen Brandon Sutter and Matt D’Agostini are already building some chemistry.

During the open practice scrimmage on Saturday the third line produced two goals – one each for Jokinen and D’Agostini – for Group A in a 3-0 victory over Group C.

“We played a little better today I think” D’Agostini 26 said.

Jokinen 30 and Sutter 24 have a history together. They played together for four seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes. The two also spent an entire season skating on the same line. So they already have some experience with each other’s tendencies.

Meanwhile D’Agostini is playing catch up.

“Both guys are pretty easy to play with” D’Agostini said. “They’re both simple straight-forward guys that get their offensive chances by just working hard getting pucks behind their D and getting our chances from there.
