"Pedro Martinez quickly bolted Yankee Stadium after a 7-3 loss in Game 6 of the World Series Wednesday night. In fact, his daddies still were celebrating their 27th title on the field as Martinez exited.

"I didn't get the performance I wanted and we ended up losing the game, but I'm extremely proud and I had fun and I enjoyed it," Martinez said before boarding an elevator in the basement near the visitors' clubhouse. "I don't regret anything."

Martinez lost his second game of this World Series, this time with his fastball nowhere close to 90 mph. He was charged with four runs on three hits, two walks and a hit batter in four innings. The damage came on a two-run homer and two-run single by Hideki Matsui in consecutive innings.

Matsui hurt Martinez in Game2 in the Bronx as well. Martinez allowed three runs in six-plus innings in that game, including solo homers by Mark Teixeira and Matsui.
