"Robinson Cano's batting practice sessions have long been a subject of fascination among his Yankees teammates, who have come to expect pregame power displays from the second baseman.
Curtis Granderson has seen so many of Cano's practice sessions that he refused to back off his prediction that Cano will win Monday's Home Run Derby, which begins at 8 at Chase Field in Phoenix.
"It means a lot to me (from) a guy like him who has 25 bombs," Cano said. "That's a lot."
Cano, who was also voted in as the starting second baseman, has 15 home runs going into the event featuring sluggers such as the Red Sox's David Ortiz and the Brewers' Prince Fielder."
