San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver was charged Wednesday with one felony and two misdemeanors stemming from an alleged hit-and-run accident last month, the Santa Clara District Attorney's office said.

Culliver, 25, is scheduled to be arraigned on those charges on Friday. It will more than likely be continued to a later day to allow Culliver time to enter a plea.

The District Attorney's office charged Culliver with felony possession of metal knuckles. If convicted, it carries a prison sentence of 16 months, two years or three years. A judge has discretion to grant probation and a sentence of no time to one year.

He also faces a misdemeanor charge of hit-and-run causing injury, as well as misdemeanor hit-and-run causing property damage.
