"In an odd set of circumstances, an NBA owner and coach from the same team got fined on the same day.
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and coach Rick Carlisle were each fined by the NBA on Friday for separate incidents involving the same game.
The league slapped Cuban with a $75,000 fine for criticizing the referees after Wednesday's 95-86 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile, Carlisle was fined $35,000 for kicking a basketball into the stands in the fourth period of that game.
"I think it's fair," Carlisle said. "If you're responsible for a ball going into the stands you're subject to a fine. I accept it and regret that situation happened -- even though it was accidentally -- and I've got to move forward."
Cuban always matches whatever fine he receives from the NBA with donations to charity. He said whenever he makes his decision on which charity will receive the $75,000, he'll tweet it."
