Tony Pulis is ready to take advantage of Norwich City’s relegation from the Premier League by making a £5 million offer for goalkeeper John Ruddy.

Pulis, the Crystal Palace manager, has identified Ruddy as a top target for this summer in a move which is likely to raise uncertainty over the future of Julian Speroni.
Ruddy, who has been put on standby for Roy Hodgson’s England World Cup squad, is certain to be targeted by a number of clubs following Norwich’s drop into the Championship and Pulis is hopeful of agreeing a deal.

Palace are facing the prospect of Speroni leaving on a free transfer. The Argentinian is understood to have received offers from Leicester and Hull City.

Wayne Hennessey, the Wales international, is at the club but Pulis still believes another experienced goalkeeper is a priority.
