Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz was removed from Monday's game against the Angels with tightness in his left quad muscle. Cruz left the game in the seventh inning, but the situation is not considered serious.

Cruz wears a sleeve on his legs to protect against these problems. He felt the muscle tighten while running before the game and finally decided to come out with his team leading, 8-2.

When he took the sleeve off in the training room, he couldn't feel the tightness anymore.

"They did a lot of tests after I came out and I didn't feel anything," Cruz said. "But we were up six runs and I didn't think the team needed me. I felt it, so I wanted to be cautious."
