The agent of Croatian youngster Mario Pasalic has confirmed that the Hajduk Split starlet will undergo a medical in May ahead of signing a permanent deal with Chelsea.

Just 19, the Croatian under-21 international, who was born in Germany, has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Blues on a permanent deal this summer.

The young central midfielder has shone this season for his club, scoring 11 goals in 25 appearances in the Croatian top flight. And according to his agent, Ivica Loncar, Pasalic expects to join Chelsea this summer before heading out on loan next term - with the decision to fall on the shoulders of the Chelsea coach.

"Mario would like to stay at Hajduk as long as possible, but the contract is signed and we must respect the desire of the club," said Loncar, speaking to Croatian newspaper 24sata.

"There is a chance [he will stay at Hajduk], but they are minimal. Mario will be in London at the end of May for a medical examination and then will know more about his future.
