The Chicago White Sox will be lightly represented during next month's World Baseball Classic, but none of those participating will suit up for the United States, as provisional rosters were announced Thursday for the 16-team tournament.

Paul Konerko's name had been included late last year on an initial provisional roster for Team USA, but he was not among the players named Thursday. Instead, Team USA will move forward with the Yankees' Mark Teixeira at first base and the Twins' Joe Mauer available to back him up when he's not catching.

Players on the White Sox's major-league roster who will be participating are right-hander Jesse Crain for Canada, while Puerto Rico will have outfielder Alex Rios and right-hander Hector Santiago.
