Only 18 years old when he broke in with the old Winnipeg Jets, Shane Doan was surrounded by veteran teammates who helped him transition from the Western Hockey League. Perhaps even more significant for his future was that he never forgot those lessons.

He has put that knowledge to good use on the ice, and, in his 16th NHL season, has evolved into a captain highly regarded throughout NHL.

Doan's career comes full circle Thursday, as the Coyotes return to Winnipeg for the first time since the franchise moved to the Valley in 1996. They will take the ice as the Pacific Division leaders following their 4-1 win over Chicago on Tuesday.
