Todd Archer of ESPN reports that the Cowboys will not tender an offer to restricted free-agent fullback Keith Smith, but they are interested in re-signing him this offseason.
The low-round tender would cost the Cowboys roughly $1.9 million for the 2018 season, which is just too much to allocate to a player who played just 12 percent of the team’s snaps last year.
This means that Smith will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks and will at least have the ability to meet with other interested teams.
