"The Dallas Cowboys released the troubled cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones Wednesday.
Jones finished the season with 33 tackles, 13 passes defensed and one fumble recovery. He also averaged 22.1 yards on kickoff returns and only 4.5 yards on 21 punt returns.
Pacman Jones was acquired in a draft day trade with the Tennessee Titans. He served a league-mandated suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy, missed the entire 2007 season, but was reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell Aug. 28.
Jones was suspended once again by the NFL on Oct. 14 after an incident at a Dallas hotel. He was partially reinstated on Nov. 21. He was allowed to resume team activity Nov. 24 and returned to play at Pittsburgh on Dec. 7."
