"Tony Romo had a Chris Webber moment in the final, decisive seconds of Sunday's game.
This one turned out better for the Cowboys quarterback than it did for Webber in that NCAA title game.
Dan Bailey lined up for the game-winning, 39-yard field goal in overtime. Washington coach Mike Shanahan called a timeout to ice Bailey as the play-clock clicked down to one second. So did Romo.
"They were calling a timeout so I did as well,'' the quarterback said sheepishly.
The problem: the Cowboys had already called two timeouts, which is all each team is allotted in overtime. If the officials had awarded the timeout to Romo instead of Shanahan, the Cowboys would have been penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct."
