Cowboys have questions behind starter Felix Jones

"Right now, the Dallas Cowboys can say without a doubt Felix Jones is their best running back.

Tashard Choice is hurt.

Marion Barber has been cut.

After that, it's a second-year fullback, a couple of draft picks and three undrafted free agents.

If Jones isn't the best running back in this crowd, there's something wrong.

"Felix has gotten off to a very good start in camp," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "He's running the ball well. He's in good shape. His work over the first four or five days of practice has been outstanding."

At least the Cowboys know what they have in Jones.

He was their leading rusher last season with 800 yards. He was their top receiving back, and third on the team in receptions behind Jason Witten and Miles Austin.

"As anybody knows who's followed our football team, he's a dynamic playmaker," Garrett said.

And Jones, starting his fourth year with the Cowboys, said he feels as good as he's ever felt.

"I always feel good when I come out here, and I always prepare myself for camp," he said. "I can honestly say I feel a lot better this year."

But after Jones, the Cowboys can only wonder what they have.

Third-round pick DeMarco Murray is out with a hamstring pull he suffered in a workout before camp, and he'll probably miss at least one preseason game, owner Jerry Jones said.

Choice is out perhaps another week with a calf strain suffered early in the first practice.

Frank Warren, Phillip Tanner and Lonyae Miller are undrafted free agents."
