Of his five runs, two came on first down, two on second down and one on third down. However, Jones was primarily used as a third-down back for the Cowboys against Washington, often helping out in pass protection.

Jones' role on the Cowboys' team diminished dramatically when he missed the previous four games with a left high ankle sprain. He lost his starting job to rookie running back DeMarco Murray."
