Some around the NFL have speculated that Hue Jackson could end up back in Cincinnati under Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis.

There is no reason to believe that Lewis will be around to see that happen. The coach's contract expires at the end of the season. Owner Mike Brown could finally make a change after 15 seasons. The Bengals have gone 9-16 over their past 15 games and Cincinnati has won zero of their six playoff appearances.

Lewis and Jackson have a lot of respect for each other. A close friendship started developing in 2002 while both were coaching with the Washington Redskins.

In fact, when Jackson was relieved of his duties with the Oakland Raiders, he returned to Lewis' staff. Despite a past on offense, he coached the secondary and special teams. It was the only role available at the time. He later became the running backs coach and offensive coordinator.
