"Philippe Cornet made his first shift a quick one, then his second one count as the Edmonton Oilers prospect made his NHL debut Tuesday.

Cornet, 21, collected an assist on the Oilers' first goal of the night as they went on to defeat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2.

"I felt pretty good out there for the first game," said Cornet. "Playing with players like (Jordan) Eberle and (Sam) Gagner helps.
