Kaleel Gaines is leaving the Michigan State football program, a school spokesman confirmed to the Free Press.

The third-year sophomore plans to enroll at Arizona Western Junior College per @JuCoFootballACE, a Twitter user based in Gaines’ home state of Florida that tracks junior college transfers. MSU teammate Kenny Willekes posted a farewell message for Gaines on his Instagram page.

The 6-foot, 194-pound Gaines took snaps at cornerback and wide receiver during MSU’s spring game on April 1 after spending his first two seasons in the secondary.
