Even though a dog-tired Corey Crawford sat on the dressing room bench staring blankly ahead Saturday, this had been the sight everyone needed to see, the Blackhawks included.

There were flourishing glove saves, acrobatic dives, nimble kick saves on dead-to-rights rebound chances and, finally, three denials in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Red Wings. Maybe many won't trust Crawford to carry the Hawks in the postseason until he does, but his sizzling March run has earned him some believers.

"He's playing really good," forward Patrick Kane said. "It's nice to see him playing well, especially this back half of the year when you kind of needed him to step up. He's kind of our go-to guy right now."
