"Anthony Gonzalez's fourth season with the Indianapolis Colts has ended in the same manner as his third: too soon.
The wide receiver was placed on the season-ending injured reserve list Saturday because of an injury to his left knee suffered during Monday night's win over Houston. The injury occurred when Gonzalez was tackled out of bounds by Texans safety Bernard Pollard.
The Colts filled Gonzalez's spot on the roster by signing running back Andre Brown off the practice squad.
It ends yet another frustrating season for the team's 2007 first-round draft pick.
Gonzalez appeared in only one game last season after spraining ligaments in his right knee in the season opener. He saw action in this season's opener at Houston but suffered a high sprain to his right ankle that forced him to miss five games."
